Portugal

Identity & tax (in one line)

Identity & tax: Portugal's status value on this site is the hub's fund golden visa (a EUR 500,000 fund, with the citizenship clock now extended to 10 years) and the D8 remote visa. SIGI taxation (on paper): OIC-style vehicle-level relief, with distributions withheld at 10% for non-resident individuals (28% for resident individuals, 25% for companies) — a rate schedule with no vehicle, which is this page's complete footnote.

This section is general information only — not immigration or tax advice. Program rules change frequently; before acting, rely on the official texts and a licensed adviser.

Key metrics

Portugal GDP growth (2025, INE)
1.9%

Why this country

The economic repair is real: GDP +1.9% in 2025 (above the euro area), net lending of 2.5% of GDP and a household saving rate of 12.3% — Portugal is not a problem country; its only problem here is the missing listed-property channel.

Its status value is already priced on this site: the fund golden visa (buy track) and the D8 remote visa (7.2, second on the remote track) both live in the hub — this page and the hub annotate each other.

The gap itself is a citable conclusion: SIGI legislation dates from 2019, yet the first fast-track listing arrived only in December 2025 with a 16.2% free float — 'the regime exists' is not 'the channel exists', and Portugal is the cleanest specimen of that test.

Entry routes

Listed route: none (formally rejected — see risks). Portugal has no listed property vehicle buyable in size, and this site offers no route.

Status routes (the hub): the fund golden visa and the D8 each have their own hub pages; for cash flow, see neighbouring pages such as Spain (entry No. 85).
